Here's your opportunity to create your very own barn quilt from the comfort of your home! This class will be given over Zoom (no Zoom account is necessary). I'll show you the techniques used and walk you through the step-by-step process of painting a barn quilt in your own pattern and colors.
I'll be with you to answer questions, give tips and encourage you as you work on your masterpiece for the first half. Once we get into most of the taping/painting and it gets noisy with hairdryers, I'll drop off the call and be available for any additional questions through phone or chat, or I can log back onto Zoom, if necessary.
Plan on being on Zoom with me around 3 hours and you should be able to finish your barn quilt in 2-3 additional hours (if you want to finish it on the same day). You're always welcome to finish it on your own time.
There are two (2) options to choose from at checkout:
- If you have or can get the supplies you need ahead of time without assistance and just want to attend the class
- If you need me to ship you the supplies ahead of time
A list of supplies needed will be sent to you while others you'll need to find around your house or purchase at your local hardware store.
Supplies that will be shipped are (if you choose this option). If you choose to prepare the supplies on your own, be sure to have these ready for class:
- 2x2 MDO board, cut, primed and ready to hang
- paintbrush (both large for painting and small for touchups)
- Frog tape
- Xacto knife
The board we are going to be painting is exterior grade MDO. If you plan to use interior paints and want to hang yours outside I can recommend a good urethane that I trust.
Items you'll need to purchase or find around your home (for either option):
- yardstick
- pencil
- eraser
- jug with clean water
- hairdryer
- paint - I will work with you ahead of time to help you decide on a pattern, how much paint you need and what colors. The estimated cost of paint is $5.00/color if you purchase sample sizes from Home Depot/Lowes.
We'll be painting on a primed MDO square that has been prepared for your work of art. You'll have the opportunity to choose from 3-5 patterns but can customize the colors and pattern any way you wish.

Date for our class: Saturday, 2/25/23 starting at 4:30 pm CST
Registration cutoff: Cutoff for registration is 2 weeks in advance to give me time to ship your supplies to you (if you need supplies shipped), 48 hours in advance if you do not need supplies shipped)
How To Login: A link to the Zoom class will be emailed to you ahead of time
Cancellation policy: If you're unable to attend class but I have already shipped the supplies to you, you will receive a $20 refund. If supplies have not been shipped yet you can receive a full refund.
